Did you know that you can see what your new smile could look like before you even get started with Invisalign® treatment? It’s true!
A quick scan of your mouth using the iTero Element 2 scanner will allow your Dental Depot team to create a 3D rendering of what your smile will look like at various points throughout your proposed treatment. When you decide to start your Invisalign® treatment, the scan is used to create your Invisalign® clear aligner trays.
Your iTero Element 2 scan is provided as part of your free orthodontic consultation and is available in all of our offices.
Step 1: Set up a free Invisalign® consultation at any of our offices. Find a location near you and make an appointment to get started today.
Step 2: At your Invisalign® consultation, experience the difference of an iTero Element 2 scan. In just minutes, you will be able to see a 3D model of your mouth and what your smile could look like with Invisalign® treatment.
Step 3: Once your treatment plan is finalized, get started with your Invisalign® treatment when you pick up your custom aligners.Â
In addition to using patented SmartTrack technology for its custom-made aligners, Invisalign is supervised by an orthodontic professional and includes in-person appointments to answer your questions and provide guidance and oversight to ensure that the treatment is working as intended.Â
Many at-home teeth straightening kits do not include in-person orthodontic consultation or supervision, either before, during, or after treatment, so there is no way to know if your treatment is working safely or properly.
Almost anyone looking to improve their smile could be a good candidate for Invisalign clear aligner treatment. In general, however, Invisalign is usually best for minor to moderate misalignment issues including gaps and overcrowding. Teens and older adults tend to adhere best to the requirements for successful Invisalign treatment, including wearing the removable aligners for at least 22 hours per day, keeping track of them when they are removed, and keeping aligners and teeth clean, but there are many younger patients who can handle the responsibility just fine.Â
However, it’s usually the amount of correction needed rather than age that determines if a person is a good candidate. While Invisalign can treat a wide range of orthodontic issues, it may not be effective for patients with:
These conditions will generally require full braces or other orthodontic appliances.
The goal with all orthodontics is to gradually shift your teeth’s positioning slowly over time using constant, gentle pressure, and orthodontic treatment times vary from person to person. In some cases, Invisalign might do this faster than braces, but that may not necessarily be a function of the orthodontic treatment as much as it is of the orthodontic need. That is, Invisalign may work faster than braces for people with less severe alignment problems. However, the length and type of your orthodontic treatment will always be determined by the severity and complexity of your alignment needs and how well you adhere to the treatment guidelines.
At Dental Depot Oklahoma, our goal is to help you achieve a beautiful, straight, and healthy smile safely and effectively for results that last. Some patients may need less treatment time than others, and some will benefit more from one type of treatment than another. Whatever your alignment concerns are, schedule a consultation with a Dental Depot orthodontist today to discuss your options and find out what treatment solutions are right for you.
Drinking anything other than water while your aligners are in, even through a straw, will most likely damage the aligners and is not recommended. Dark-colored beverages may stain the aligners, and hot beverages could damage or warp the plastic.Â
However, Invisalign aligners are easily removed so you can enjoy your favorite foods and beverages. Just be sure to keep track of your aligner when it’s out, and rinse your mouth or brush your teeth if possible before replacing the aligner.
In order to maximize the benefit of your Invisalign aligner, it is recommended that you wear them for at least 22 hours a day. By allowing your teeth to gradually shift to their desired location and your jaw to reshape, your results will be more likely to last.Â
By removing the aligners, however, and not wearing them for the suggested time, not only will you not see your desired results, but you may cause more harm and future problems with your alignment.
