Becoming a Part of
the Dental Depot Team

What started as a private practice with nine chairs in a renovated duplex in Oklahoma City’s historic Linwood neighborhood has grown into a group practice spanning 30+ offices across four states, with more to come in 2023. In fact, Dental Depot is one of the largest employers in the state, with more than 500 Oklahomans at last count, and more than 200 employees in Texas, Arizona, and Missouri. The business has been family-owned and operated by the Ashmore family since the beginning and the owners continue to practice here today.

Our Buildings

Dental Depot currently has around 40 locations across four states (Oklahoma, Texas and Arizona and Missouri), and even more locations in the pipeline.

Our buildings are warm and inviting to all ages. There are clock towers, railroad crossing arms and signs, and large-scale trains in front for kids to enjoy. Whether it is a train running from room to room, or our amazing collection of memorabilia, there is always something interesting to capture peoples’ attention.

The trains started with small models running through the office. Later, exterior trains were added, which are really like art installations. They are built from scratch by our facilities team, and each one is unique.

Frequently Asked Questions
by Dental Assistants

How many rooms will I be working out of?

Our assistants are assigned an operatory and work out of that one room. On a high volume day, assistants may help their team members out and can work multiple rooms.

Will I be working with the same doctor?

We establish teams within each office so we find it is best to keep the same assistants for each doctor.

Can I work extra days if I need to?

Most often, we could use additional help at our clinics. Additional hours are approved by your Office Manager.

Do you offer on the job training if I don't have any assistant experience?

Yes. If you’re interested in on the job training, please visit our Internships and Academy section for more information.

What if I need to schedule a doctor appointment during a work day?

Our assistants have a set off day during the week so we ask that you schedule personal things during that time. If you have special circumstances that do not allow you to schedule on your off day, we ask that you switch with another team member. We employ multiple assistants so there is some flexibility in taking time off.

What if I don't have my dental assistant permit?

You cannot work until you have a permit. This permit is required by the Board of Dentistry to work in a dental office as a dental assistant.

Will I work late hours?

Our offices close at 5:00 P.M.most days, and 4:00 P.M. on Fridays and Saturdays. Each assistant is assigned a “close night” and we try to get employees out as close to 5:00 P.M. as possible.

Is it difficult to schedule vacation time?

Not at all. We offer Paid Time Off which you will start accruing immediately after starting up to 40 PTO hours the first year. If you do not have accrued PTO and still require some time off, we ask that you let your manager know 30 days in advance to allow for staffing.
