I want to share my amazing experience at Dental Depot. I have 4 children. Three of them have severe ADHD and 2 of them have sensory processing disorder. We just moved here from Arizona and I was nervous about finding a dentist for them because they tend to have a really hard time. My son when he was 4 and 5 had to get heavily sedated in order to have his cavities filled. It was a mess and highly stressful. My husband and I both work and one of us would have to take off work and jungle the rest of our children to get these procedures done. Not to mention he had to go to an oral surgeon which cost A LOT of money!
I was recommended Dental Depot on one of my Facebook Mom (mothers to kids with sensory processing groups) so we gave it a try. THEY ARE SERIOUSLY AMAZING.
From the office staff, to the dental hygienist to the dentist. We went the first time for a routine cleaning. I was so nervous because they have a train that runs through the entire office and my 3 and 8 year old were running around chasing the train and having a blast. I was stressed because I couldn't control them and asked the receptionist if this was"normal." She said, "yes all the kids do this, and we're so used to it, they are fine!" My stress level went from an 9 to a 1. THEY UNDERSTAND KIDS!!! SO my son needed 3 cavities filled and my daughters needed 2 and I did NOT want to go through sedation with my son and hearing him scream during his procedure . We came back 2 weeks later to get them filled with one of my older daughters and my hyper 3 year old. I explained that my son has a hard time getting numb and would need extra numbing. So I have 2 children in the dentist’s chairs and a hyper 3 year old and this time my husband wasn’t there. I needed to be in 3 places at the same time and was a nervous wreck.
Lauren is a gentle soul with a kind smile. She has a calm and soothing energy about her. She numbed my son COMPLETELY for the first time EVER he did not feel when the dentist worked on him and he had 2 cavities filled and a (pulp?... which is like a baby root canal). I could not believe she was able to numb him completely, he did NOT complain once, not ONE TIME!!! Dr. Ta was so sweet and reassuring with him‚ she talked him through the process, let him feel the textures, explained in detail (the way an 8 year old could understand) what she was doing next. She kept encouraging him when he got wiggly, and constantly gave him positive reinforcement, which he responds well to. She was quick but very thorough While I was running back and forth to my children in dentist chairs Kay'lee gave my 3 year old apple juice and offered her goldfish crackers. So kind, so sweet. I also liked how the Dr. Ta spoke to Kay'lee while she was assisting her, she was kind yet direct and Kay'lee was able to follow her lead. They make a great team!
My 3 year old was completely content playing on the train set in the little room conveniently located where I could watch her and attend to my other kids. My kids also got a rotating toothbrush and they were picky about choosing their favorite. EVEN THE OFFICE STAFF was kind to my children. They sat there and talked about the different toothbrushes to my children and was patient when they couldn’t make up their minds.
We've gone 2 times in 2 weeks, were greeted with a smile both time. Office handled the insurance professionally and we were sent back shortly after we arrived. We did not wait long. Could not be more impressed with them. THEY LOVE (adore) CHILDREN‚ and you can feel it. What a great place to take your entire family for dental needs. I am incredibly impressed‚and OF COURSE‚ we'll be back and will recommend you to everyone I know. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You guys seriously are not one of the best.. you are THE BEST! Thank you, thank you, thank you! See you soon! ~Katie
